Getting better beach photos --

It's getting warmer and many of you are starting to go to the beach.  However, when you take pictures of the kiddos or your special someone, you may notice harsh shadows under their eyes or nose.  Try fill flash to help fix this problem...

Check if your camera has a fill flash function then use it next time you shoot in the harsh sunlight. You'll be amazed at the results! The fill flash uses a pulse of flash to help fill in those harsh shadows caused by the sun. Just remember that it will not have a lot of range, so get in there close.

If you can't do that, wait till a cloud passes over you to take the picture. This will also help reduce those harsh shadows.

If you find this helpful, think about joining one of our classes.  We have several coming up over the next few months for both beginner and intermediate level photographers.  Just give me a call on 361-944-FOTO to get scheduled in one.

Thanks for the tip; it worked great! I am now the official photographer for our family. Do you have other tips so I can continue to improve?
